Fogo, Cape Verde

Here comes a beautiful postcard from Cape Verde, showin a stunning view of Pico do Fogo. It is the highest peak of Cape Verde, rising to 2,829 metres above sea level. It is an active stratovolcano lying on the island of Fogo. The mountain's slopes are used to grow coffe, while its lava is used as bulding material. Near its peak is a caldera and a small village, Chã das Caldeiras, is inside this caldera.
Thanks so much to Michaela who went on holiday to Cape Verde, and sent me this gorgeous postcard, perfect for my volcano-related cards collection! :)
