Osorno Volcano, Chile

Osorno Volcano is a 2,652-metre tall conical stratovolcano in Los Lagos Region of Chile. Osorno is known worldwide as a symbol of the local landscape, and is noted for its similar appearance to Mount Fuji. It's one of the most active volcanoes of the southern Chilean Andes, with 11 historical eruptions recorded between 1575 and 1869. The upper slopes of the volcano are almost entirely covered in glaciers despite its very modest altitude and latitude, sustained by the substantial snowfall in the very moist maritime climate of the region.
Thank you very much Hernan!

Atacama, Chile

The Atacama Desert is a plateau in South America, covering a 1,000 km strip of land on the Pacific coast, west of the Andes mountains. It is, according to many publications, the driest desert in the world. The Atacama occupies 105,000 km2 in northern Chile, composed mostly of salt basins (salares), sand, and felsic lava flows towards the Andes. Laguna Lejía, shown on the postcard I got is a salt lake located in the Altiplano of the Antofagasta Region of northern Chile. The landscape of the area is dominated by the volcanoes Chiliques, Lascar, Aguas Calientes and Acamarachi.

Thank you very much Hernan! Hope my cards will arrive to you soon - they are traveling for a long time now!
