Salzburg, Austria

Salzburg has managed to preserve an extraordinarily rich urban fabric, developed over the period from the Middle Ages to the 19th century when it was a city-state ruled by a prince-archbishop. Its Flamboyan Gothic art attracted many craftsmen and artists before the city became even better known through the work of the Italian architects Vincenzo Scamozzi and Santini Solari, to whom the centre of Salzburg owes much of its Baroque appearance. This meeting-point of northern and southern Europe perhaps sparked the genius if Salzburg's most famous son, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, whose name has been associated with the city ever since. UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.
Tamara, thank you so much!

Austria

Postcard from Lechtal Alps region in Austria. It's part of the greater Northern Limestone Alps range. Named for the Lech River which drains them north-ward into Germany, the Lechtal Alps occupy the Austrian states of Tyrol and Vorarlberg and are known for their diverse rock structure.
Thanks so much to Lotty of Belgium who went on walking holiday in Austria.

Beautiful postcard with amazing stamps from Austria that came as official card. I really like anything related to frogs. :)
