Valletta, Malta

Valletta, the capital of Malta, is located in the central-eastern portion of the island of Malta, and the historical city has a population of 6,098. The name "Valletta" is traditionally reserved for the historic walled citadel that serves as Malta's principal administrative district. However, Valletta, like many historical city centres, forms part of a larger continuous urban agglomeration; this is often referred to as "Greater Valletta." Valletta contains buildings from the 16th century onwards, built during the rule of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem. The city is essentially Baroque in character. The City of Valletta was officially recognised as a WHS by UNESCO in 1980.

Thanks a lot nearlyperfect!

Malta

Here is one of 3 postcards I've received from Malta so far, and interesting fact is that 2 of them came folded and damaged during their trip to me. Though, I don't care about it at all simply because it show's that postcard traveled. and who knows where it was wandering before reaching me. :) Anyway, great postcard + great EUROPA CEPT 2009 stamp = happy me. :) Thank you Leena!
