Georgetown, Guyana

Georgetown, estimated population 239,227 (2002 Guyana census), is the capital and largest city of Guyana, located in the Demerara-Mahaica region. It is situated on the Atlantic Ocean coast at the mouth of the Demerara River and it was nicknamed 'Garden City of the Caribbean. It's / retail and administrative centre. It also serves as a financial services centre. The postcard I got shows St. George's Cathedral and National Library of Guyana. Cathedral is the biggest wooden cathedral in the world. Looks impressive.
Dear Michael thank you so much for this awesome postcard from your trip! xx

Guyana

Another postcard from new country in my collection. This time - Guyana, small country in South America. Postcard shows Kaietur Falls. It is "largest single drop" waterfall in the world which is often misinterpreted as "tallest single drop." However, it is likely one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world. Kaieteur Falls is about five times higher than the more well known Niagara Falls. It is one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world, and is quite majestic, isn't it?

Thanks so much Kishan! You made my day. :)
