Pacaya, Guatemala

Pacaya is an active complex volcano in Guatemala, which first erupted approximately 23,000 years ago. Pacaya rises to an elevation of 2,552 metres. After being dormant for a century, it erupted violently in 1965 and has been erupting continuously since then. It is a popular tourist attraction. Pacaya lies 30 kilometres southwest of Guatemala City and close to Antigua.
If you enjoy watching photos of volcanoes (like I do), I recommend you this link where you can see awesome photos of the Pacaya volcano.
Many thanks to florencia for another lovely volcano postcard in my collection! :)
